Our Instructors

The teachers and coaches of Doha Dolphins come from a number of countries with a wide variety of experiences. Many are certified to UK STA Level 1 and 2 and others have equivalent certifications from South Africa, Hungary, Philippines and Sweden. Our teachers and coaches regularly teach in the water, which allows swimmers to develop their confidence whilst applying practices and exercises that help all swimmers reach their full potential.

Our “Assistants” are mostly made up of our older swimmers and are present in our Learn to Swim Programme. All Assistants are required to attend a specific course (theory and practice) run by the Club where many aspects of coaching and technique are taught. A formal test completes the course.

Doha Dolphins always has a Qualified Lifeguard on duty during all of our classes.

Doha Dolphins employs the expertise of Jenny Ohlsson. She has been working closely with the Management and Coaches to develop a comprehensive Learn to Swim Programme and subsequent Programme for our Technique Development groups and Squads. She is also responsible for the ongoing training of our Coaches and Assistants and runs specific swimming workshops for our Squads.

Jenny has more than 15 years of solid experience in many swim clubs in Sweden including three of the countries’ top clubs where she worked with many of the Swedish Olympic swimmers. She has developed the “Learn to swim” programme for the Swedish Swimming Federation which has been implemented in most of the clubs in Sweden, produced the educational course material for all current swim teaching and coaching courses and was responsible for the Head coach development and educational programmes in Sweden. Jenny was, in parallel with her job at the Swedish Swimming Federation, also the head Coach for the Swedish Junior National Team.
